I too hated AVP. The story was just weird, and they focused too much on the humans. It wasn't called Aliens vs. Predator vs. Unlucky Humans!
Also, I hated the pg-13 rating and the fact there was no violence. The reason these two series are so much fun is because of the Predators' sick take downs of his prey, and the Aliens are horrendous for the fact of their life cycle and how they hunt us. All the major Predator take downs happened off-screen! So annoying.
And of course in AVP-R they make for up for the lack of violence in the first movie and THEN some, but had no plot whatsoever. That's what happens when the movie is directed by two special effects artists with no directing experience at all.
Sorry for the rant, these were my childhoods memories ruined in two dumb movies. Anyways, the picture is pretty badass.
